ITINERARY

Day 1 – Monday 15th January 2018 London Heathrow to Malta
Group arrives Malta on Flight. (TBA). Welcome by Liberty representative and transfer group to Hotel ceck in and assistance by Liberty Representative Dinner at Hotel & Overnight

Day 2 – Tuesday 16th January 2018 Valletta, Rabat & Mdina
Breakfast at hotel –
09.00 hrs Group departs hotel accompanied by a licensed English-speaking guide and proceeds to Valletta. The group will visit the following sites: Upper Barracca Gardens- These commands a magnificent view of the Grand Harbour and the Three Cities. Proceed towards St. James Cavalieri and pass by the New Parliament building designed by the famous architect, Renzo Piano. St. Johns Co-Cathedral – This was formerly the conventual church of the Order built by Gerolamo Cassar and completed in 1578. Once built, the Knights lavished adornments in their languish chapels most of which are real treasure of art. Here one finds the most important painting that Caravaggio made in Malta as well as one of his most extraordinary creations, for many it is his greatest masterpiece – The Beheading of St. John the Baptist.
Proceed towards the Grand Master’s Palace and the guide will give an explanation
Some time at leisure
13.00 hrs – Malta Experience – Multivision Show depicting over 7000 years of Maltese history
14.00 hrs- Proceed to Rabat to visit St. Paul’s Catacombs an underground Christian burial place dating back to the 4th and 5th century. (Explanation of St. Paul’s grotto will also be given by the guide)
Proceed on foot towards Mdina. Walk through the medieval city and visit St. Paul’s Metropolitan Cathedral – rebuilt following the earthquake of 1693, the interior of this magnificent Cathedral deserves full attention. Proceed towards the Bastions – Enjoy the magnificent views from the Silent Cities defence bastions. Proceed towards Dingli Cliffs, the highest point on the island
18.00 hrs- Return to hotel Dinner at Hotel & Overnight

Day 3- Wednesday 17th January 2018 Tour to Gozo
Breakfast at hotel –
08.00 hrs – Group departs hotel in an air-conditioned coach accompanied by a licensed guide to the north of the island, Cirkewwa, for the ferry crossing to the Island of Gozo.
09.00 hrs- Ferry to Gozo In Gozo the group will visit the following sites:
Dwejra – Also known as the Inland Sea and window, the delightful bay encompasses Fungus Rock, A crater-like depression forms the Inland Sea, a land locked fishermen’s harbour. Proceed to visit Ta Pinu Church. Afterwards Victoria – Gozo’s Capital city and the Citadel
Some time at Leisure
In the afternoon the group will proceed to Xlendi – The land locked bay, lies at the foot of the fertile valley under towering cliffs, has a character of its own. It is still a fishing hamlet and a tower guards the bay.16.30 hr s- Return Ferry to Malta Dinner at hotel & Overnight

Day 4- Thursday 18th January 2018 Tour to Hagar Qim, Blue Grotto, Ghar Dalam & Three Cities
Breakfast at hotel 09.00 hrs- Group departs hotel accompanied by a licensed guide for a full day tour. Drive to Wied iz- Zurrieq to visit the Blue Grotto – Lying beyond the cliffs, the guests has to take a boat to visit the grotto. (Boat trip optional)
The group will proceed to Hagar Qim – This temple is unique among other Maltese temples due to the limestone used throughout its construction.
Proceed to visit the cave of Ghar Dalam and then to the fishing village Marsaxlokk
Some time at leisure
In the afternoon the group will proceed to the historical area known as the Three Cities: Vittoriosa, Cospicua and Senglea. A drive past Cospicua will bring the group to Vittoriosa. The visitors will stroll its lanes, stepped streets and winding alleys and admire its beautiful buildings. The group will visit St. Lawrence Church. The group will proceed on the bridge to Senglea for a short stop.
17.00 hr s- Return to hotel Dinner at hotel & Overnight

Day 5 – Friday 19th January 2018 – Departure
Breakfast at hotel. Check out – Group departs hotel and proceeds to Malta International Airport accompanied by Liberty representative. Group departs Malta on Flight. (TBA)
