I worked in Administration for many years before I studied and qualified as a Youth Worker and also a Youth and Adult Counsellor. This was followed by my Degree in Social Sciences and a PGCE (+16) to enable me to teach the subjects. I later retrained to teach Literacy and Numeracy so that I could teach full time in a local prison.
I worked as an Area Representative for Christian Friends of Israel until three years ago.
Although I am now retired I am still active in my local church where I am part of the prayer ministry and intercession teams. I also teaching the Biblical (Hebraic) Roots of the Christian Faith at the York branch of the U3A.
Over the past few years I have taught about the Biblical Feasts and The Tabernacle and their relevance to the Christian Faith as well as endeavouring to encourage a love for God’s chosen people and their land.
I have attempted to compose a tour that incorporates socialising with the wonderful and very hospitable Israeli Jews; hence the Shabbat (Sabbath) meal with a Jewish family, the visit to Yad Hashmona, (Biblical Gardens) owned and run by Israeli Messianic Jews and a visit to Christ Church, Jerusalem, where hopefully we’ll be able to join them in one of their services.
