DAY 1 – UK – Israel
Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport, where our local representatives, Diesenhaus – Unitours will help you with formalities. Transfer to hotel for overnight stay in Jerusalem

DAY 2 – Jerusalem
Enter the Walled City by foot. In the Jewish Quarter visit the Cardo and the Western Wall and enjoy a panoramic view of the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount. Enter the Christian Quarter and visit St Ann’s Crusader Church. Beginning at the Antonia Tower walk the Via Dolorosa ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Continue through the winding streets of the Old City to the Tower of David Museum, covering 3000 years of Jerusalem’s history. Later this afternoon visit Garden Tomb.

DAY 3 – Jerusalem
Start the day with a visit to the Hadassah Medical Centre to view the world famous Chagall windows depicting the twelve tribes of Israel. Continue to the Yad Vashem Memorial to the Holocaust and the Children’s Museum. In a nearby forest, take a few moments to plant a tree. Stop at Mt. Herzl to view the grave of the late Prime Minister, Yitzhak Rabin. End the day with a visit to the Israel Museum to see the scale model of ancient Jerusalem in the time of the Second Temple and the Shrine of the Book housing the Dead Sea Scrolls.

DAY 4 – Jerusalem – Bethlehem
Today we start with a visit to Bethlehem. Driving via the Tomb of Rachel, visit the Church of Nativity and the milk grotto. Continue to the Scripture Gardens at the Biblical Study Centre. Return to Jerusalem and have the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 5 – Jerusalem – Dead Sea
Descend through the Judean Wilderness, via the Inn of the Good Samaritan, to the lowest place on earth – the Dead Sea. Drive along the shore to the base of Masada, the last stronghold of the Jews against the Romans. Ascend by cable car and tour this mountaintop fortress including Herod’s Palace, an ancient synagogue and a bathhouse. After descending drive to a nearby oasis and enjoy the opportunity to swim or ‘float’ in the unique waters of the Dead Sea. Before returning to Jerusalem, visit the Qumran Caves, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered.

DAY 6 – Jerusalem – Tiberias
Depart Jerusalem and drive to Jericho, the oldest inhabited city in the world. Continue through the Jordan River Valley Rift to Beit Shean, dating back more than 5,000 years, where excavations have revealed 18 levels of history. Proceed to Beit Alpha and view the ruins of an ancient synagogue with a mosaic floor. The next stop will be Mt. Tabor, site of the Transfiguration. Visit Nazareth, where Jesus grew to manhood and tour the Church of Annunciation. End todays tour at Yardenit, he Baptism site on the River Jordan.

DAY 7 – Tiberias
Begin the day with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee from Tiberias to Nof Ginosar. View the remains of a boat from the time of Jesus. Continue to Capernaum, centre of Jesus’ Ministry. Located here are the ruins of an ancient synagogue and the site of Peter’s house. Proceed to Tabgha, the site of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fish and see the mosaic from the 5th century Byzantine basilica. Drive to Mount of Beatitudes, site of the ‘Sermon on the Mount’. Continue to Safed, one of the four holy cities and once the Jewish centre of Mysticism and today a picturesque artists’ colony. Travel through the Upper Galilee to Banias Springs (Caesarea Philippe) where Peter made his confession of faith.
Dinner and overnight stay in Tiberias

DAY 8 – Tiberias – Tel Aviv
Depart Tiberias and drive towards the Mediterranean coast. Stop at Mukraha, site of Elijah’s confrontation. Visit a Druze village and enjoy home hospitality while learning more about this culture and interesting life style. On Mt. Carmel visit the Stella Maris Monastery built over the caves of Elijah and the Bahai Shrine with its beautiful Persian Gardens. Travelling south on the coastal highway, stop at Caesarea and view the archaeological ruins of this ancient Herodian, Byzantine and crusader city.

DAY 9 – Israel – UK
Leave Israel and transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for your flight home to the UK.
